Professor Ish Sharma, a dedicated Ayurvedic physician and former Chair of Ayurvedic Medicine at the University of Mauritius, embodies a profound commitment to healing rooted in his heritage as part of a traditional Vaidya family. His journey in Ayurveda began with rigorous training, culminating in a Postgraduate degree and Doctorate from the esteemed National Institute of Ayurveda in Jaipur. With a heartfelt passion for addressing Lifestyle Disorders, he has tirelessly conducted numerous clinical trials targeting Diabetes, Autoimmune Disorders, and Nervous System diseases, driven by a desire to bring hope and relief to those suffering.
With over 25 years of experience, Professor Sharma stands as a beacon of knowledge in the global Ayurvedic community, blending education, training, and patient care with a vision of wellness that transcends borders. His work in Ayurveda Tourism across the EU, USA, Australia, and ASEAN countries reflects his belief in the transformative power of natural healing. As a skilled Panchakarma clinician, he has witnessed miraculous recoveries in patients with the most challenging medical conditions, reinforcing his faith in Ayurveda’s potential to restore health and balance.
An accomplished author of four books and 25 peer-reviewed medical research articles, his contributions to the field are both extensive and impactful. He has led Babeke Ayurveda Medical College in Punjab, India, and served as the Controller of Examinations at Guru Ravidas Ayurved University in Hoshiarpur, Punjab. He embraced his role at the University of Mauritius with significant achievements as the inclusion of Ayurvedic Dietetics in the Primary School curricula of the Ministry of Education, Mauritius, setting up of Ayurvedic Garden at the Presidential Palace, Mauritius, launching Ayurvedic study cum training modules in Mauritius, including a 3- year Diploma in Panchakarma, delivering 50+ TV talks on the Mauritius Broadcasting Television and so on. He continues to inspire future generations of practitioners, igniting a passion for Ayurveda that resonates deeply with the human experience of healing and hope.
